Course Overview

Docker gives you a foundation for DevOps, useful to both developers and system administrators to create distributed applications. Using Docker allows users to focus on setup and maintenance of development environments instead of focusing on creating new features, fixing issues, and shipping software.

As the follow-on to the Introduction to Docker course, Docker for Enterprise Operations is a role-based course designed for an organization’s Development and DevOps teams to accelerate their Docker journey in the enterprise. The course covers in-depth core advanced features of Docker EE and best practices to apply these features at scale with enterprise workloads.

Course Objectives

This course is approximately 50% hands-on, combining expert lecture, real-world demonstrations and group discussions with machine-based practical labs and exercises. Our engaging instructors and mentors are highly experienced practitioners who bring years of current "on-the-job" experience into every classroom.

Working in a hands-on learning environment led by our expert facilitator, students will explore:

Identify the key features of UCP and DTR
Deploy applications on UCP using Swarm or Kubernetes, governed by secure, role-based authentication and authorization
Establish a secure supply chain for containerized software development using DTR

Need different skills or topics? If your team requires different topics or tools, additional skills or custom approach, this course may be further adjusted to accommodate. We offer additional DevOps, Docker, Containers, testing, programming and other related topics that may be blended with this course for a track that best suits your needs.

Course Prerequisites

This hands-on course is geared for IT professionals with an operations or system administration background who have already attended Introduction to Docker or have equivalent experience, desiring to understand designing, deploying, and managing Docker containers at scale in an enterprise environment. Attendees should also be comfortable with Linux.
