Basic Java Programming for Developers New to OO is a five-day, hands-on Java training course geared for developers who have little or no prior working knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (such as those working on (C, COBOL, 4GL, etc.) Throughout the course, students learn the best practices for writing great object-oriented programs in Java, using sound development techniques, new improved features for better performance, and new capabilities for addressing rapid application development. Special emphasis is placed on object oriented concepts and best practices.
This course explores several items introduced in Java 9, Java 10 and Java 11 including the Java Modular System, Local Variable Type Inference, the HTTPClient API and several API updates. Developers leaving this course will be able to work on Java 8 projects while they are also ready to move onto projects using Java 11. This course also inlcudes a Quick Look at what's new in the latest Java 12+ editions.
NOTE: This course is offered for Java 8, Java 11 (for Java 9 to 11) and Java 17 LTS editions. Please inquire for details.
This “skills-centric” course is about 50% hands-on lab and 50% lecture, designed to train attendees in core OO coding and Java development skills, coupling the most current, effective techniques with the soundest industry practices. Our engaging instructors and mentors are highly experienced practitioners who bring years of current "on-the-job" experience into every classroom.
